NDC
NDC created the first commercial laser cut polished nitinol cardiovascular stents. The stent required three key technologies:
- NiTi tube drawing
- Precision laser cutting of drawn tube
- FDA quality de-burring and polishing
NDC was acquired by Cordis, a division of Johnson & Johnson
In 2008, Cordis split up NDC into two entities: stents and commercial. Beta participated in management's buyout of the commercial business, where it is a leader in shape memory alloy technologies.
